Annual National Student Symposium

Every March, a different law school’s chapter hosts the National Student Symposium about a unique topic concerning the current state of the legal order. The Society reimburses 50% of a Member’s airfare or 100% of expenses for carpools of three or more Members. The Society also reserves hotel room blocks at special rates. This event coincides with the tail end of Suffolk Law’s spring break, and we strongly suggest that Members attend.

The symposia typical feature panels with some of the most renowned legal scholars in America today. The weekend begins with the first panel and a cocktail reception on Friday evening. Another evening cocktail reception follows Saturday’s lineup of panels and speakers. Saturday night’s banquet dinner is the highlight of the weekend and ends with a keynote speaker and the presentation of annual chapter awards. Examples of topics that panels have discussed include “The ‘Privileges or Immunities’ Clause,” “Federalism and Economic Liberty,” and the new economic liberty questions concerning blockchain cryptocurrencies.
